Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Control Standards and Processes Manager within the Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO).

Responsibilities
  • Support the yearly cycle of activity relating to the bank's oversight of Material Controls; assist with planning, execution, and review to ensure effective control oversight.
  • Implement and maintain Control Standards and Processes; develop clear principles and guidance to align with HSBC's Risk Management Framework, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the operationalisation and embedding of Control Standards and Processes; ensure consistent application and best practices across HSBC to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement for Control processes; gather feedback, benchmark against industry best practices, and update relevant documentation.
  • Manage Group projects impacting Control guidance; support changes to the Risk Management Framework or other key artefacts, ensuring alignment and effective communication across the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of Control standards, methodologies, and processes; experience designing, implementing, or maintaining control frameworks within a large organisation.
  • Solid understanding of Regulatory Compliance and the Risk and Control landscape; familiarity with regulatory requirements and risk management practices, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and management levels; experience partnering with colleagues from different functions and backgrounds to achieve shared objectives.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, think innovatively, and problem-solve in high-risk environments; demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities, drive continuous improvement, and deliver solutions under pressure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, secure executive buy-in, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless delivery of priority programmes.

Base location: London with a hybrid working pattern.
