Location : Manchester

Salary : £50,000 - £77,000 + Benefits

  • Shift Work Required (including weekends)

Control Room Operates 24 / 7 365 days

As a Hub Control Room Engineer, you’ll be right at the centre of the action, helping to monitor and manage the electricity distribution network that powers over five million people across the North West. Whether it's fault restoration, system control, or outage planning, you'll be making critical decisions in real time that keep homes, hospitals, schools, and businesses connected.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Hub Control Room Engineer, you’ll be on the front line of the Network Management Hub - making critical decisions in real time to keep the network safe, reliable, and efficient. In this fast-paced and collaborative control room environment, you’ll :

  • Monitor and manage the electricity distribution network in real-time.
  • Take the lead on restoring customer supply during unplanned faults - restoring customer supplies safely and efficiently to meet performance targets.
  • Perform power system analysis to support safe plant operation, generator output and system security.
  • Liaise with internal dispatchers, field engineers, embedded generators, and other DNOs to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service, especially during incidents, keeping internal teams and customers informed.
  • Always prioritise safety, following legislation and company codes of practice.
