Contracts Manager – Housing
Location: Southampton
Rate: £23.70 per hour (PAYE) / £30.13 per hour (Umbrella)
Temporary, Full-time

Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to join Southampton City Council’s Housing Operations service. This is a vital role that will see you managing multi-trade teams and contractors to deliver essential housing maintenance and improvement works across the city.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for:

Leading housing maintenance projects from inception to completion, including large-scale refurbishments, voids, and fire-damaged properties.

Managing budgets, resources, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Supporting the development of planned maintenance strategies in line with council policies, health & safety legislation, and service level agreements.

Promoting best practice, innovation, and value-for-money solutions across housing operations.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, tenant representatives, and stakeholders to continuously improve services and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification, or significant experience in housing contracts and commercial management.

Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance.

Demonstrable leadership and project management skills within a housing or property services environment.

Strong financial acumen with proven experience managing budgets and cost control.

Excellent IT skills, including the use of MS Office and digital platforms.

A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

A professional qualification (CIOH, RICS, CIOB) would be desirable but is not essential.
