Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority is seeking an experienced, strategic Contracts Commercial Manager to lead in the effective delivery of major waste management contracts. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the successful postholder will sit within the Contracts team and will be at the forefront of the Authority's efforts to deliver excellent services and value for money for the residents and District Councils of the Liverpool City Region.
Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) is a strategic waste and resource management authority, leading on the recycling and management of municipal waste across the Liverpool City Region. MRWA manages waste resources, recycling and the transportation of waste on behalf of six district councils across the region, including Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. The Authority serves more than 1.5 million people, providing waste management infrastructure and operational services across Liverpool City Region through two major waste management contracts, including 16 household waste recycling centres, 2 materials recovery facilities, 4 transfer stations and an Energy from Waste facility linked to a rail transfer station in Merseyside. The combined annual spend is around £85m, and MRWA aims to deliver value for money services.
