Job description
Overview

Our client is recruiting for the position of Contracts Specialist, based in Aberdeen. This is a long-term contract role with a large North Sea operator to support a portfolio of major capital projects, decommissioning and subsea contracts. This role would suit someone who has been working at a similar level with another North Sea operator.

Responsibilities
  • Manage post-award contract / commercial management of contracts already in place (Subsea, Topsides and Decommissioning), including contract progress verification, change management, claims mitigation, invoice verification and closeout.
  • Oversee preparation and administration of minor third-party contracts.
  • Ensure all compliance, project Joint Venture and Company requirements regarding contracting processes are satisfied; ensure compliant contract administration.
  • Engage and coordinate with Legal and other functional SMEs for contracting support.
Tendering Involvement
  • Act as the SCM focal point for future developments; key tasks include preparing requests for proposal documentation, coordinating evaluation / award recommendation, leading negotiations and contract development for awards.
Additional Tasks
  • Management of SAP/eProcurement system records.
  • Establish and ensure the needs and requirements of key internal and external stakeholders are met.
  • Represent the Project(s) team as the SCM focal point at monthly Tender Board Meetings as required.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Contracts Advisor on capital projects, managing multiple large contracts, preferably with Operators and/or Major Contractors in the UKCS. Experience in subsea, subsea equipment, topsides fabrication and/or capital project contracts is required (preferably all aspects, but subsea experience is essential).
  • Strong knowledge of formal SCM systems including contract drafting and formulation, legal requirements, Terms and Conditions and risk assessment.
  • Experience interfacing with internal stakeholders (operations, compliance, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Materials, QA/QC, Logistics) and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end contracting process (planning, sourcing, negotiation and supplier management).
  • Proven business and commercial acumen, including negotiation.
  • Proficiency in SAP, e-Procurement systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to effectively communicate within a multi-functional project team and with various technical backgrounds.
  • Preferably degree-qualified in a commercial discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Law).
