Purpose of the role
  • Working alongside our Operational Excellence Manager, UK manufacturing teams and other key stakeholders to identify, facilitate and drive a wide range of operational improvements using Lean and Six Sigma across our manufacturing facilities.
  • To drive daily performance improvements through the Leviat Tiered Reporting and Daily Management process, actively developing daily CI activities. (SIC / DCI / SQDCIP)
  • Based in Sheffield but able to travel to support other UK locations if priorities or projects demand.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Working alongside the Operational Excellence Manager, UK Manufacturing Manager, Production Managers and other key stakeholders to identify, facilitate, and drive a wide range of operational improvements using Lean and Six Sigma principles across manufacturing facilities.
  • Drive daily performance improvements through the Leviat Tiered Reporting and Daily Management process (SIC / DCI / SQDCIP), actively developing daily CI activities.
  • Create and manage daily Gemba walk schedules, ensuring actions are captured, followed through, and embedded.
  • Own and prioritise the CI project pipeline and active projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are actively allocated to identified and agreed projects, monitoring progress and delivery.
  • Escalate deviations, risks, and roadblocks to the leadership team, providing clear visibility and recommendations.
  • Apply Lean principles using Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, 5 Whys, Structured Problem Solving, and visual management to implement and sustain lasting improvement.
  • Plan, organise, and schedule improvement projects alongside production with minimal impact.
Key Competencies & Relevant Experience
Essential :
  • Degree qualified with 5+ years of relevant CI experience in a manufacturing or operational role.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Certified Black Belt (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven track record of delivering measureable operational improvements using Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Hands on ability to coach and train others in Lean tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Ability to lead and support multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Data driven with solid analytical capability in Excel, Power BI or similar.
