A leading NHS Trust in the UK is looking for a dedicated midwife to join the Highfield team, providing personalized care to women during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of band 6 experience and a passion for home births. As part of a dynamic team, you will ensure high-quality care and support for both staff and patients, reflecting the Trust's commitment to excellence in maternity services.
The midwifery teams at WUTH provide care to approximately 3,200 women and families in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, both low and high-risk women. Encompassed within the unit is a Level 3 Unit for Neonatal Services, Children’s Services and Women’s Unit. WUTH is known for innovation in delivering high-quality care to women in a hospital/community setting.
The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for the provision of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods for women and babies in the hospital/community setting. You will also support the team and ward in the effective management of the clinical area. You will support, supervise and teach staff and students, delivering evidence-based client-centred care of a high standard, ensuring that all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures and maintaining associated records of care.
As a Highfield midwife you will be rostered day and night on call for birth availability. You will also have a caseload of 1:36 women per year per WTE. The team covers the all of Wirral. Highfield team are seven midwives who are dynamic and passionate about midwifery.
We are looking for a midwife who is passionate about home birth and low risk midwifery care. You must have a minimum of two years band 6 experience. Highfield is an award winning team that cares for women who would like a home birth or to birth their baby in Seacombe Birth Centre, and since 2018 the team has increased WUTH home birth rate, continuing to promote choice of birth setting.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a clear demonstration of the ability to provide personalized maternity care. You should have a clear commitment to current developments and initiatives within the midwifery arena and sound knowledge of current issues in the public health agenda.
