Overview

The Media Manager for Showcase is responsible for obtaining, quality controlling, and tracking the delivery of footage to the Creative Team, enabling the production of video deliverables for Trade Events. You will also manage the track delivery of final deliverables to event locations, both creatively and externally.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and quality control all incoming footage, checking aspects such as high resolution and split track.
  • Track delivery of footage and ensure that deliverables are dispatched to event locations according to schedule.
  • Manage a media library and ensure all footage is tracked accurately; keep the Production team updated about the footage status.
  • Use various software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere, and be willing to learn new tools as required.
  • Conduct meetings with producers, provide status updates on footage, and collaborate on speedy delivery.
  • Lead and instruct Production Coordinators and assist with prioritising workloads, especially during bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency in software packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere.
  • Experience managing media libraries and tracking the status of footage.
  • Knowledge of post-production procedures and familiarity with broadcast equipment and media formats.
  • Ability to download and manage content, oversee drive schedules, and address operational issues as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment, manage multiple assets, and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organisational skills, and the ability to propose new processes.
  • High-speed internet capability when working remotely.

Role Context

BBC Studios Showcase is an annual, invitation-only international event hosted by BBC Studios, where the company sells its vast portfolio of British television content to global buyers, investors, and media executives. This is a freelance position for 2 months (Jan-Feb) full time 9:30-17:30, Monday to Friday. The work is mainly remote, but there may be occasions you would need to be in the office at Television Centre, West London. This is an ideal role for those keen to go into Junior Creative or Edit Assistant roles as a way to build up their CV. Candidates should supply a short cover letter outlining how their skills meet the brief.
