Contentious Construction Solicitor (NQ-4) – Edinburgh

A leading UK law firm with a strong reputation in construction and infrastructure disputes is seeking a talented Contentious Construction Solicitorto join its busy Property & Infrastructure Disputes team in Edinburgh.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly regarded team on high-value, complex disputes across the construction and energy sectors. The work includes litigation, adjudication, arbitration and mediation – both in Scotland and cross-border.

The role:

  • Advise on a wide range of construction and engineering disputes, including professional negligence, defects, delays and payment issues
  • Represent clients in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and court proceedings
  • Prepare legal documentation including pleadings, witness statements and expert reports
  • Contribute to case strategy and client relationship development
  • Stay updated on key legal and regulatory developments in construction law

About You:

  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland with up to 4 years’ PQE in contentious construction law
  • Experience with construction contracts (e.g. NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and major infrastructure disputes
  • Strong advocacy, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Able to manage a varied caseload and prioritise under pressure
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
