Container Transport Planner - Day Shifts

Location : Grays, Essex

Salary : Up to £52,000 per year + Generous Bonus Scheme + Overtime

Shifts : Monday to Friday - Day Shifts

Job Type : Full-time, Permanent

I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join a busy transport team in Grays. Working with a fleet of 50+ trucks and modern equipment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and execution of UK container movements.

What You'll Do

• Plan and manage daily transport routes for a fleet of 50+ vehicles
• Book port slots using VBS (Vehicle Booking System)
• Utilise Transport Management Systems (TMS) for scheduling and tracking
• Work with online shipping line portals for container instructions and restitution
• Communicate with drivers, depots, ports, and customers
• React to operational changes and resolve planning issues quickly
• Ensure compliance with driver hours and WTD regulations

What You'll Need

• Experience in container transport planning (essential)
• Good knowledge of VBS systems and container restitution processes
• Confident using online shipping line portals
• Proficiency in TMS software
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Able to work efficiently under pressure
