Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Consultant Respiratory Physician to join an expanding team focused on Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). The role will involve working across multiple hospitals, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have broad experience in Respiratory medicine and must hold relevant qualifications including MRCP and GMC registration. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment within the NHS.

Consultant Respiratory Physician with an interest in ILD

Applications are invited for 2.0 wte positions in Respiratory Medicine, one based at Ealing Hospital and one based at Northwick Park Hospital, with cross‑site working for both posts. The successful applicant will join an expanding and dynamic, forward‑thinking team.

We would welcome hearing from applicants who are interested in a sub‑speciality of Interstitial Lung Disease.

The appointee will be responsible to the Divisional Director of Integrated Medicine for London Northwest Healthcare NHS Trust.

The department of Respiratory Medicine comprises 18.0 wte consultants across three sites: Ealing, Central Middlesex, and Northwick Park Hospitals. Although each post holder will have a main base, they may be asked to work at any of the other sites in the future.

The service is supported by a respiratory matron, five CNS across the two sites, and a junior doctor establishment including six SpR trainees, two Trust grade registrars, three IMTs, and a mix of FY2 and FY1s on both sites.

Main duties of the job

This post will contribute pro rata to the Acute Medicine Rotas in operation at the time of appointment. The successful applicant will support the Respiratory ILD service, general respiratory outpatient service, and participate in regular ILD MDT. They will also join their consultant colleagues at the Ealing site where there is a 34‑bedded Respiratory ward including a six‑bedded Enhanced Respiratory Unit with a Consultant of the Week service model, and post 2 will join their colleagues at Northwick Park Hospital where there is a 33‑bedded Respiratory ward and a COTW service model.
