Job description
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon - Upper Limb

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our dedicated team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality elective orthopaedic care in a modern, brand new, purpose-built hospital.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering specialist care, with a particular focus on upper limb surgeries, and a variety of minor orthopaedic procedures. With first-line cover provided by RMOs, the on-call responsibility is minimal and shared on a rota with orthopaedic colleagues.

Main duties of the job
  • Perform a wide range of elective orthopaedic procedures
  • Deliver exceptional care across the patient pathway preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Support and supervise junior clinical staff
  • Participate in audit, clinical governance, service improvement, and teaching
  • Engage in continuing professional development and actively contribute to departmental meetings and strategic planning
