Job summary

A healthcare provider in Bradford seeks a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty in Arthroplasty. You will join a team of experienced surgeons, participate in on-call rotas, and be involved in trauma management while training middle grade doctors. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Trauma On‑call service 1 in 12 weekdays and weekends.
  • Conduct operative lists, both Trauma and Elective.
  • Perform regular ward rounds.
  • Manage outpatient clinics, both Elective and Trauma.
  • Supervise and train Middle Grade Doctors.

Job Summary

Applications are invited for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Specialist interest in Arthroplasty.

We look to appoint a candidate to join our group of 17 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. The successful candidate will be part of the general on‑call rota and will be supported in developing their sub‑specialist interest. You will work alongside senior colleague to provide support to the Arthroplasty Unit of 7 consultants. Applicants should have a passion and enthusiasm for service development.

Responsibilities

This post is committed to providing an Orthopaedic and Trauma service with sub‑specialisation in Primary Joint Arthroplasty (hip and knee). This post will be full time on the Consultant contract.

  • Participation in the Trauma On‑call service 1 in 12 weekdays, and 1 in 12 weekends.
  • Operative lists, both Trauma and Elective.
  • Regular ward rounds.
  • Outpatient clinics, both Elective and Trauma.
  • Active involvement in Trauma management, both Adult and Paediatric.
  • Supervision and training of Middle Grade Doctors.
  • Participation in management duties within the Department and the Trust.
  • Active liaison with the Emergency Department and attendance at Local and Regional Trauma meetings.
  • Active participation and provision of leadership to the MDTs.

Experience (Essential)
  • Evidence of completing an approved period of training in Orthopaedics
