About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Construction Technician (Carpentry) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching, learning, and assessment within our construction workshops, ensuring learners gain hands-on experience and develop high-quality carpentry skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set up, and maintain carpentry workshop areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Support tutors and assessors in delivering practical carpentry sessions.
  • Supervise and guide learners during workshop activities, ensuring safe working practices.
  • Maintain and monitor stock, materials, and consumables, ensuring availability for classes.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of tools, machinery, and facilities.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Provide technical advice and demonstrate correct use of tools and materials.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
About You
  • NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry & Joinery (essential).
  • Recent or relevant industry experience within the carpentry/construction sector.
  • Knowledge of workshop tools, equipment, and safe operating procedures.
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
