The Construction team forms part of the firm's broader Insurance Group and acts for a wide range of clients, including:

  • The majority of Professional Indemnity insurers in the UK market
  • Major contractors and construction consultancies
  • Engineers, architects, surveyors, project managers, and design & build contractors

The team is consistently top-ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for Professional Negligence. They provide expertise across a wide spectrum of matters, including:

  • Defence of liability claims pre- and post-litigation
  • Adjudication, arbitration, and disciplinary proceedings
  • Risk management advice and insurer policy coverage analysis

As an Associate, you will join a vibrant, growing team in London, working closely with partners and colleagues across the firm. You will manage a varied caseload of construction professional indemnity claims, with matters ranging from tens of thousands to multi-million-pound values. You will have autonomy over your work while benefiting from mentoring and guidance from senior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of construction professional indemnity claims, including coverage issues
  • Delivering high-quality legal advice in a timely manner, aligned with client service standards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of team processes, procedures, and service delivery
  • Supporting business development initiatives and client engagement activities
  • Preparing management information and reporting for internal and client purposes
  • Attending and assisting with client events and networking initiatives
Candidate Profile
  • NQ-4 years PQE
  • Strong grounding in construction litigation; insurance experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to provide pragmatic, commercial legal solutions and build trusted client relationships
  • Proactive, collaborative, and commercially aware
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to a supportive team culture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT literacy
