A leading environmental charity is seeking Conservation Volunteers to assist with maintaining waterways and promoting community engagement. Volunteers will learn new practical skills while participating in projects like heritage restoration and graffiti removal. We are looking for a group of people who have artistic flair! The pilot mural project offers the opportunity to transform a space into something vibrant. The program offers the opportunity to prepare a space, be part of the design process right through to producing a finished piece of art on a permanent fixture.
Learn about The Canal & River Trust, our dedication to the waterways, environment and health & safety working near water. Gain experience in construction, painting, woodwork, vegetation. Learn new skills and techniques in using equipment. Become involved in the design process through guided practical sessions with an experienced artist.

In this role you’ll get to experience the many faces and locations of our beautiful network and help maintain our structures and assets. Whether it’s working on pre-planned maintenance cutting back vegetation around aqueducts, or tackling graffiti in our more urban locations, our Conservation volunteers do a fantastic job of making sure there’s plenty of beauty on the doorstep.
