Due to continued growth DXC Technology have a great opportunity for an experienced Configuration Manager to join our growing UK Public Sector team in Farnborough on a Part Time Basis (22.5 hours).

You will support the Design Office in the development and definition of configuration management policy and process and provides expertise to the Design Authorities, Project Technical Authorities and other project staff to support the needs of the team. Candidates must be UK single National and have SC clearance or ability to obtain.

The CM is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the configuration management policies and processes detailed in the Air QMS are commensurate with the contracted standards and corporate policies.
  • Providing technical leadership and consultancy across the business in configuration management matters.
  • Ensuring that Configuration Management activities are done coherently and completed in line with the constraints set by the approved scope of work and associated timelines.
  • Ensuring implementation of configuration management practices as documented within the QMS.
  • Managing the configuration management team to meet project and programme demands within constraints of time, cost and quality.
  • Approve configuration management work products produced by projects.
  • Performing configuration audits (e.g. Functional Configuration Audit, Physical Configuration Audit, Baseline Verification Audit).
  • Performing audits of CM repositories.
  • Reviewing requests for deviation from configuration management processes.
  • Maintaining the Parts Catalogue and 3rd Party Product and Information Register.
  • Management of both customer and internal media including checking it in and out for development and testing use.
  • Production of delivery artefacts as required by projects.
  • Maintaining the data held in the CM tools to ensure consistency.
  • Producing releases of the QMS to support the programme.
Accountability
  • Accountable to the Design Office for the effectiveness of configuration management activities within the business.
  • Accountable to Project Managers and Project Technical Leads for the delivery of project work within constraints of time, cost and quality.
  • Accountable to the Service Delivery Manager for the delivery of agreed outputs of support work packages to time and cost.
