Concierge for Orient Express Sailing Yachts

Description

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Concierge on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts. Concierges have to be available to assist guests with any matters related to experiences ashore. These also include informing guests about calls in ports, points of interest to visit, securing private arrangements shoreside in collaboration with our shore based concierge service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the sales and bookings of private shore experiences.
  • In charge of the embarkation duties, including working shoreside to greet and assist guests, together with the guest services team and ground handling staff.
  • Fully in charge of organizing the debarkation process onboard, delivering time slots, organization of the transfers, collection data and providing luggage tags and debarkation duties as needed, including working shoreside to greet and assist guests.
  • Handle issues and complaints directly and efficiently to foster guest satisfaction.
  • Provide deep knowledge of the ports of calls and excursions and assist guests according to their needs and interests, as well as prepare port talks.
  • Perform concierge duties such as booking shore restaurants, golf or other activities ashore.
  • Works closely with supervisors, colleagues and other departments in order to achieve the highest possible passenger satisfaction.
  • Develop knowledge of established tour programs and region-specific port information.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by escorting guests on tour and reporting accurate accounts of guest experiences on each guided tour.
  • Achieve departmental revenue goals by following established sales techniques offering recommendations and recognizing opportunities to upsell or sell additional shore experiences products.
  • Organize tour dispatch. Guide guests from the meeting point to transportation, work with tour operators to ensure all guests are accounted for and ensure all guests have returned from the tour. Communicating any challenges with the ship’s management team.
  • Participate in social functions onboard.
  • Assist in the operations of the destination experiences office by completing additional administrative tasks assigned to you by the First Concierge.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Languages: Fluent English plus one additional international language required (French, Italian, German, Spanish, Mandarin). French, Italian and Spanish are particularly appreciated due to ports visited.
  • Education: High school degree or related. Hospitality training appreciated.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 years as Shore assistant in a luxury environment. Microsoft tools is required, MXP knowledge is appreciated.
  • Shipboard experience: Yes.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
