Compound Support / Banksman (Rail Industry)

Huddersfield, Ad-Hoc Shifts initially, £18 - £21 per hour (Umbrella pay), 3 week contract from Sunday 5th October

Are you experienced in rail safety and looking for an opportunity in Huddersfield? We are looking for a team of Banksman to join our client, currently working on a major upgrade project in the North West.

Role Overview

This role will involve providing support to Compound Supervisors by covering shortfall shifts on staff rest days. Opportunities for full-time Compound Supervisor positions later in the year will be considered for those who demonstrate initiative and work well within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, signalmen, and other personnel to maintain safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant rail standards.
  • Report and assist in the resolution of any incidents or issues on site.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid Traffic Marshall/Banksman ticket.
  • Experience in a rail or construction environment - hold a valid PTS
  • Knowledge of rail site safety and operational procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to cover adhoc shifts as required.
