Overview

Composite Fitter x2 – Derbyshire | Permanent and Contract available | Competitive Salary (DOE)

Our client, a leading manufacturer for high-performance sectors, is currently seeking 2x Composite Fitters to support continued growth within their precision engineering facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced and innovative environment, working on complex composite assemblies to the highest industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Trim, shape, and fit composite parts using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Bond composite components using adhesives, resins, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Assemble components in accordance with defined sequences, ensuring correct fit, alignment, and surface finish.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure components meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the work area.
  • Collaborate with Fitting Section Team Lead and Engineering staff to resolve issues and suggest improvements.
  • Accurately document all fitting and assembly activities, including any non-conformities or deviations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, materials, and techniques.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the department and wider production objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar composite fitting role.
  • Proven background in the fitting, bonding, trimming, and assembly of composite components.
  • Experience working with parts for motorsport, automotive, or aerospace applications.
  • Comfortable using air tools, hand tools, jigs, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively to resolve challenges.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively across departments.
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
