Job description
Compliance Manager

Nottinghamshire

£55,000 (potentially some flexibility) + car

Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with a strong background in Waste or Recycling? Do you have a passion for ensuring environmental compliance, driving best practice, and maintaining high regulatory standards across multiple sites?

We're looking for a capable and committed Compliance professional with proven experience within the waste, recycling, or environmental services sector. You will have a strong track record of managing environmental compliance, interpreting and implementing legislation, and supporting operational teams to meet regulatory and permit requirements. Experience working with the Environment Agency, environmental permits, and compliance audits is essential.

Reporting to the Group SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to environmental legislation, permits, and internal procedures. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong communication skills, the ability to influence at all levels, and confidence in building effective working relationships with operational, technical, and senior stakeholders.

In this position, you will play a key role in promoting a strong culture of environmental responsibility and compliance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping the business manage risk effectively. You will provide guidance, training, and support to site teams, carry out audits and inspections, and lead investigations where required to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

By joining the team, you'll be part of an organisation that prioritises environmental compliance, operational excellence, and sustainability, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the business and contribute positively to the wider waste and recycling industry.
