Job summary

Compliance Engagement Officer

Location: Can be based from either Ealing, Staines, Oxford or Winchester – Hybrid/Mobile working

Salary: £34,975 - £36,815

Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday

DBS Level required: Basic

We’re looking for a Compliance Engagement Officer to join our Building Safety team at A2Dominion. This is a vital frontline role ensuring safe and lawful access to homes for essential inspections, servicing, repairs, and safety‑critical compliance work across areas such as Gas, Electrical, Lifts, Water Hygiene, Fire Safety, and Damp & Mould.

You’ll manage cases from initial engagement through structured access pathways, using dialogue, persuasion, negotiation, and proportionate escalation. You’ll also support legal proceedings by preparing accurate evidence, attending warrant or injunction visits, and ensuring post‑access compliance tasks are completed.

This role is key to strengthening A2Dominion’s compliance assurance by resolving access barriers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting residents through a customer‑focused but firm compliance approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage directly with residents to secure access through clear communication and problem‑solving.
  • Progress cases through approved access pathways, escalating in line with policy and statutory timeframes.
  • Prepare accurate evidence and documentation to support legal escalation.
  • Attend court hearings and warrant visits when required.
  • Conduct property visits to resolve access issues and ensure safety‑critical checks are completed.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to overcome access barriers.
  • Promote understanding of safety obligations and statutory compliance among residents.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and customer engagement strategies.
More about you
Essential
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grades A*-C).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in statutory compliance within housing or similar regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements (Gas, Electrical, Water Hygiene, Fire Safety).
  • Ability to prepare court‑ready evidence and manage sensitive resident interactions.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain issues clearly to varied audiences.
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development.
  • Customer Service and conflict‑resolution skills, with experience managing sensitive resident interactions.
Desirable
  • Housing or compliance‑related qualification.
  • Customer Service training.
  • Awareness of legal enforcement processes (warrants, injunctions).
  • Knowledge of housing law, tenancy management, or safeguarding.
  • Commitment to undertake relevant vocational study leading to successful professional qualification.
  • Experience in compliance, enforcement or building safety within a regulated or social housing environment.
