Hours: Monday to Friday (Full‑time, Term Time Only)

Contract: Long‑term

Start Date: ASAP or after October half‑term

We're recruiting for a Complex Needs Care Assistant to join a specialist school in Eastbourne, supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The pupils have high levels of need, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical care requirements such as tracheostomies, PEG feeding, and mobility support.

This is a long‑term role with full‑time hours during term time, and would suit someone with a background in care, health, or support work – especially if you're ready to make a meaningful difference in education.

What a Complex Needs Care Assistant does
  • Work closely with pupils aged 3‑16 in a structured, specialist SEN setting
  • Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and medical routines (full training provided)
  • Promote communication, independence, and engagement through tailored support
  • Be part of a collaborative, supportive staff team including teachers, therapists, and other care assistants
