Job description
Clinical Trainer – Complex Care

Location: Stockport with travel across the Northwest.
Job type: Full‑time, Permanent.

Licence Requirements

Active NMC registration and a full UK driving licence.

About the Role

D4 Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established healthcare training provider delivering high‑quality, clinically robust training across the Northwest. This role requires a Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN who is confident delivering training in complex clinical care. The position is not a generic training position and will only suit candidates with strong hands‑on clinical experience and the ability to train others in advanced care practices.

As a Clinical Trainer, you will deliver face‑to‑face and practical clinical training to healthcare professionals working in community, residential, and complex care settings. Training takes place at the organisation’s Stockport training centre, within care environments, and occasionally in service users’ homes. You must be clinically credible, confident leading sessions independently, and comfortable acting as the subject matter expert.

Clinical Training Focus

The successful candidate must be confident delivering and assessing training in complex care, including but not limited to tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, suctioning, ventilation awareness, medication administration, catheterisation, pressure area care, wound management, sepsis awareness, and recognition of clinical deterioration. You will be expected to adapt NHS‑level clinical knowledge into accessible and practical training suitable for carers, support workers, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver practical, in‑person clinical training across a range of complex care topics.
  • Assess learner competency and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adapt training delivery for classroom, care setting, and in‑home environments.
  • Ensure training is evidence‑based, safe, and aligned with current best practice.
  • Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
  • Represent the organisation professionally with partner organisations including NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and Integrated Care Boards.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Active NMC registration is essential and non‑negotiable.
  • Strong NHS clinical background.
  • Proven experience delivering clinical healthcare training.
  • Demonstrable confidence training complex care and advanced clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support learners with varying levels of experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the Northwest.

This role will not be suitable for candidates without an NMC PIN or without experience delivering complex clinical care training.

Working Culture and Values

The organisation promotes a positive, inclusive, and professional training environment where high clinical standards and learner engagement go hand in hand. The team works closely with NHS organisations, Local Authorities, and ICBs to ensure training meets real‑world care needs.

Benefits
  • Monday to Friday working hours with no nights or weekends.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Casual dress and company events.
  • Free on‑site parking.
  • Employee discounts.
