Qualifications

Job Summary

Position: Permanent part‑time Support Worker (8 hours per week).
Hours are likely to be split across the week (e.g. 2 × 4‑hour shifts or 4 × 2‑hour shifts) and will be discussed during the interview.

Location: Sketty, Swansea.
Hourly rate: £12.50, with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews.

Role Overview

This role involves providing companionship and support to people with sensory impairments, enabling them to remain independent in their own homes. Tasks include shopping, appointments, correspondence, cooking, cleaning, finances, social life and a variety of community duties. Workdays will differ each day, keeping the role engaging and varied.

Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and personal care services to individuals with sensory, physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • Assist with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, finances, and appointments.
  • Support residents in their home and within the community.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate any concerns with the team.
  • Adapt services to the unique needs of each individual, offering a customised, responsive and high‑quality experience.
  • Participate in training sessions as required to support your role.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle with business insurance.
  • Excellent communication skills and a kind, respectful approach.
  • Willingness to drive the resident’s vehicle and use of your own vehicle.
  • Knowledge of BSL is desirable; knowledge of multi‑sensory impairments / learning difficulties is beneficial.
  • Ready to attend training as needed.
