A charity focused on health and wellbeing is seeking a Community Sports and Wellbeing Instructor to support residents in housing accommodation. The role involves delivering engaging sports sessions, fostering confidence, and building resilience through physical activity. This part-time position can offer up to 22.5 hours per week across High Wycombe and Watford sites.
Project Resilience is One YMCA’s award‑winning Health and Wellbeing Project which brings sports and exercise to the heart of housing accommodation sites. We take a client‑centric approach supporting our residents who have faced homelessness and rough sleeping to engage in physical activity to improve their mental and physical health. Our aim is to engage as many and as diverse a range of residents as we can, breaking down barriers through our in‑house class timetable and engaging with community partners to open opportunities and pathways for our residents. This is part of One YMCA’s overall mission to break the cycle of homelessness.
As a Community Sports and Wellbeing Instructor (internally known as a Project Resilience Worker), you will complement the work of support and complex needs workers by bringing exercise and physical activity to our accommodation sites and showing people the powerful tool it can be in building resilience and increasing wellbeing. The role is part‑time (up to 22.5 hours per week), with the possibility of full‑time hours across our Watford and High Wycombe sites.
Part‑time up to 22.5 hours per week. Specific days and hours to be agreed at interview.
