Overview

Fixed Term for 12 months. We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated Community Safety Technicians to work within the Community Safety Team.

This new role will support problem solving, enforcement, support and engagement in a multi-agency hub working closely with Northumbria Police, housing specialists, support agencies and other key partners.

Responsibilities
  • The role will involve a lot of walking/patrolling to engage with businesses, partners, residents and visitors to the City Centre.
  • You will heavily support the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour, reporting incidents, and engaging with communities, stakeholders and other partners to assist in tackling problem areas.
  • You will facilitate and/or participate in local projects and community partnerships to support the priorities of Safe Newcastle.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A good understanding of the types of issues that affect neighbourhoods, with a sound knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation, enforcement strategies and techniques to tackle issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and a good knowledge of working in neighbourhoods.
  • Competence in using IT systems.
  • Willingness to occasionally work out of standard hours.
