Overview

Community Occupational Therapist - Permanent, Full-time 37 hours, based in our North Team at Berwick District Office, Berwick Upon Tweed, TD15 1ED. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist, experienced, who wants to progress their career in a highly rewarding area of work where they can make a real difference to the lives of residents/clients. The position is NCC Salary Band 8: £39,862 - £44,075 (equivalent to NHS Band 6). This is a permanent, full-time vacancy in the North area, based at Berwick District Office.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for adult residents of Northumberland with physical disability, mental health problems, or learning disabilities.
  • Assess for and provide basic and complex equipment and minor adaptations, through to major adaptations and manual handling assessments and recommendations.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and share office bases with wider adult social care services and Northumberland Short Term Support Service.
  • Engage with local Primary Care Networks and residential care homes to improve service delivery and maintain regular reviews.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
About the role and culture
  • All staff in the Community Occupational Therapy service can work agile from home or any Northumberland County Council site, including an allocated base office site.
  • Work environment includes a mix of Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors, and qualified Occupational Therapists; MDT support is available.
