Job summary

Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The post holder will contribute to the comprehensive multi-disciplinary team in providing care and support to service users and their families within the local community. The post holder will maintain a caseload where possible considering WTE (whole time equivalent), contribute to clinics, group work and will foster a multi-disciplinary approach to clinical and managerial problems in a community setting.

The post holder will liaise with hospital and primary care teams, social work, and voluntary agencies, and assist them in promoting and developing comprehensive nursing interventions for a range of mental health problems.

The post holder will have responsibility for teaching and supervision of learners and unqualified staff and student nurses.

Effective communication and organisational skills are essential along with knowledge of relevant legislation and current practice.

Experience in the adult acute mental health setting is desirable.

The candidate must be registered on Part 3 or 13 of the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council).

A car driver with clean driving license is desirable.
