Qualifications

Responsibilities

Location: B73 6EB, must be willing to work between all our Birmingham leisure centres.

Hours: 40 hours per week between Monday to Friday + Occasional evenings / weekends when required.

Salary: £26,280.07 per annum + Excellent benefits.

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is looking for a motivated and community-focused Community Engagement Officer to help transform our leisure centres into vibrant community hubs.

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in building strong relationships with local communities, voluntary organisations and partners. You’ll help ensure our leisure centres offer more than just physical activity – creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, feel supported and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and partners
  • Create and manage a comprehensive community contact database
  • Identify and develop opportunities for community activities within leisure centres
  • Liaise with centre staff to book and coordinate activities and sessions
  • Support organisations once activities are established
  • Assist with member sign‑ups and site tours where required
  • Identify and support applications for external grant funding
  • Contribute to and lead the BCLT Sport & Community Engagement Plan
  • Support centre staff with community‑related queries
  • Assist with advertising and promotion of activities
  • Ensure equality, diversity, safeguarding and privacy needs are understood and met

Essential Requirements
