Nutrition and Dietetics Team - NELFT (North East London Foundation Trust)

NELFT's Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge Nutrition and Dietetics team is excited to announce an opportunity for a Band 5 Community Dietitian to join the Redbridge team. Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dietetics Assessment and Treatment: Provide dietetic assessment and treatment for adults residing in Havering with support from the established Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge team.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with dietitians and Multi-disciplinary Team teams to improve nutritional care for patients across Havering with support to Barking, Dagenham and Redbridge teams.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Demonstrate sensitivity, non-judgment, and professionalism in dealing with patients. Provide advice in a considerate manner.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and training opportunities
  • Communication and Time Management: Possess excellent communication and time management skills to efficiently coordinate tasks and interactions with patients, carers, and fellow health professionals.
  • Line Management and Training: contribute to student training and the development of other team members.
  • Flexibility: Be able to travel efficiently to fulfill job requirements. The role involves travel across the three boroughs - Barking, Dagenham, Redbridge, and Havering.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary. (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941)

Experience
  • Placement experience in a community/ acute /outpatient setting
  • Evidence of the dietetic management of a wide variety of clinical conditions
  • Experience in enteral feeding and nutritional support
  • Experience working with a multi and transdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates ability to set priorities and manage own time
  • Experience delivering training for health care professionals
  • Experience of working in a community setting
Qualifications
  • BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association
Knowledge
  • An awareness of NHS priorities
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and quality
  • Evidence of a range of CPD activities relevant to community dietetics
