Job summary

A leading educational institution in England is looking for a Communication Support Worker to provide tailored support to D/deaf young people in post-16 education. The role requires interpreting and translating various communication methods, including British Sign Language. Candidates must have qualifications in BSL and a Level 3 qualification along with GCSEs in English and Mathematics. Job description

Warrington & Vale Royal College is looking to appoint a Communication Support Worker who will provide bespoke communication support to D / deaf young people throughout their time in post-16 education. This will include interpreting / translating information in British Sign Language (BSL) and / or other agreed communication methods e.g. English, Sign-Supported English, lip speaking and scribing / note taking as necessary, using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (communication devices, systems, strategies, and tools that replace or support spoken language) as part of an inclusive communication approach.

This is fixed term contract, lasting for at least 1 academic year, working 31 hours per week.
