Join our new commissioning team in Walsall. Are you passionate about making a difference in the community? Walsall Council is looking for dedicated and innovative individuals to join our commissioning team. Following a review of our commissioning functions across the council we are developing a new approach focused on impactful commissioning, securing outcomes that matter by drawing upon more collaborative and joint / multidisciplinary approaches and adopting a people and place‑based perspective.
We will achieve this through a substantial investment in commissioning that brings together four key areas of commissioning across the Council to create a more integrated approach to Health Care and Communities.

Walsall has significantly invested in building the commissioning team as part of its commitment to quality support to people in Walsall. We are in the process of appointing to the management roles in the team but have a wide range of opportunities for people to join the team based on your experience or ambition for the future.
These roles span across all of the childrens services directorates which includes Children Social Care Lifelong learning early Intervention partnership and Community Development. You will work with children services and work with other Commissioning Teams across LA ICB NHS providers and Voluntary Sector.
Walsall Council is investing in a new integrated commissioning model that puts people and place at the heart of service design. As part of this transformation we’re recruiting a Head of Commissioning Support Unit to lead the strategic commissioning infrastructure across childrens and adult services.
This is a unique leadership role responsible for ensuring consistency quality and efficiency in commissioning cycle as well as leading on need assessment and strategies that will inform commissioning intentions and models of delivery to meet need effectively in Walsall. You’ll play a key role in enabling the wider commissioning team to deliver impactful value driven services.
