Join a specialist design, construction and engineering provider delivering complex, mission‑critical projects across the data, defence and energy sectors. This is a key role for an experienced Commissioning Manager who can take ownership of commissioning strategy and delivery from design through to integrated systems testing and successful handover.

If you are passionate about technical excellence, system performance, and doing things the right way rather than the conventional way, this opportunity offers the platform to lead high‑impact projects while shaping best practice across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Commissioning Manager, you will lead the full commissioning lifecycle for building services and critical systems, ensuring every stage from installation to handover is planned, executed and documented to the highest standards.

Your day‑to‑day will include

  • Developing project commissioning strategies, plans, sequences and programmes from early design through to client handover.

  • Leading commissioning activities across MEP, controls, life safety and specialist systems, including wet / dry, hot / cold and live / dead testing and full Integrated Systems Tests (IST).

  • Ensuring all systems are tested, verified and documented to meet design intent, client performance requirements, regulations and uptime standards.

  • Coordinating with design teams, vendors, subcontractors and project delivery teams to integrate commissioning requirements into project planning and delivery.

  • Managing commissioning teams and specialist vendors, overseeing functional testing, performance validation and completion of commissioning records.

  • Supporting client training, O&M documentation, test certificates and as‑built information to enable a smooth and fully evidenced handover.

  • Identifying risks and opportunities throughout the commissioning process and working proactively to deliver commercial and technical value.

What We Need From You

Essential

  • HND minimum in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services or Controls Engineering (BEng Hons or equivalent preferred).

  • 10+ years' experience operating as a senior commissioning manager.

  • Incorporated Engineer status with MCIBSE, MIET or equivalent.

  • Strong technical knowledge of MEP, BMS / EPMS and critical power / cooling infrastructure.

  • Proven track record delivering complex commissioning programmes.

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, BSRIA, Uptime Institute and NFPA.

  • Valid CSCS card and current UK driving licence.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple parties and manage deadlines.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng FCIBSE, FMIET).

  • CxA certification or equivalent commissioning qualifications.

  • Experience in data centres, high‑technology or industrial facilities.

  • Experience with BIM / Revit, Navisworks and commissioning / project management software tools.

What's In It For You?

  • Competitive salary of £80,000–£100,000 (based on experience).

  • Hybrid working arrangement with office base in Corsham and travel to cutting‑edge project sites.

  • Opportunity to take a lead technical role across flagship, mission‑critical projects in data, defence and energy sectors.

  • Work within a business that is genuinely "built around people", investing in wellbeing, work‑life balance and long‑term career development.

  • Inclusive, values‑driven culture focused on teamwork, innovation and delivering exceptional work, not just ordinary.

  • Support for professional development, further qualifications and progression within a growing, technically strong organisation.
