Job description

An opportunity has arisen within a national water company who specialise in delivering water treatment and HVAC services to clients across the UK. They are now hiring for a committed and versatile Commissioning Engineer based in and around the Plymouth area. The successful candidate will have come from a strong water treatment/HVAC background with experience balancing and validating air and water systems on a variety of contract types. Applications from Tavistock, Ivybridge, Looe and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & experience:
  • Must have experience in inspecting, validating balancing air and water systems
  • Previous experience working on critical ventilation systems will be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to analyse schematic drawings and survey reports in order to commission system correctly.
  • Must have a good water treatment, chemical, technical and maintenance background.
  • Must be fully conversant in relevant health and safety and compliance legislation specifically HTM-0301 guidelines.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Competent in using the Microsoft office package.
  • A good working knowledge of the water industry is essential.
  • Experience working in a water treatment commissioning role within the water treatment industry essential.
Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Carrying out commissioning duties on air and water systems, including balancing, inspection and validations.
  • Calibrating equipment to accurately balance water systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
  • Carry out service work strictly in-keeping with client’s specifications.
  • Involvement in staff training as required.
  • Inspecting project installs when required.
  • Produce reports and prepare quotations.
  • Undertaking some water treatment duties to suit business needs.
  • Maintaining a professional working relationship with the company’s clients.
