Overview

Location: Home-based with regular travel across the South (particularly Larkhill, Wiltshire)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Billable Works team, providing expert commercial and surveying support across high-value accommodation and facilities management contracts. This is a pivotal role within the commercial function, responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring contractual compliance, and protecting value on contracts worth over £150m, with further growth forecast.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial, Senior Commercial Manager, and regional delivery teams to achieve commercial targets, control costs, and identify efficiencies.
  • Lead the management of variation and change control processes, ensuring all revenue is captured and reconciliations are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Provide commercial support to regional teams, liaising with client representatives to agree inclusions, exclusions, and asset/works reconciliations.
  • Support the finance team in cashflow management, monitor costs across the contract, and apply governance processes to ensure compliance.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, including tendering, order placement, payment approvals, and statutory compliance.
  • Analyse commercial data, assess risks and opportunities, and deliver reports that inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to bid and pricing activity, supporting future growth of the business.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of risk management, contract law, and financial control.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record in delivering commercial results within complex, high-value contract environments.
  • Ideally degree-qualified in Law, Quantity Surveying, Built Environment, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional qualifications in a commercial or surveying discipline would be an advantage.
