The role

As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a key part in one of the UK’s most significant defence programmes, protecting the company’s financial and contractual interests while helping to reduce risk, maximise value, and support long-term strategic objectives.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage commercial strategy and contract governance, ensuring financial targets are achieved and robust risk controls are in place to support long-term business success.

• Provide commercial guidance to internal teams on contract changes, reviews, policies, and risk management
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through confident and effective engagement
• Develop practical and innovative commercial solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Ensure adherence to commercial policies, processes, and governance standards
• Identify, assess, and communicate contractual risks and mitigation strategies

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Commercial Specialist

• Proven experience in managing single source contracts
• Strong grasp of end-to-end commercial lifecycle principles and contract management
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications for the Commercial Specialist

• Full driving license with willingness to travel for business
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law or Accountancy - Desirable
• Professional memberships of WCC (World Commerce and Contracting) - Desirable
