A global FinTech company in the UK is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive growth in their Payments and Alternative Banking sector. This pivotal role focuses on building a sales pipeline and managing client engagement from prospecting to onboarding. Ideal candidates have over 2 years in B2B sales and experience in the financial sector. The position offers mentorship, the opportunity for career advancement, and a competitive salary within a dynamic environment that fosters innovation and ownership.
VFX is a fast-growing FinTech simplifying global trading and payments for businesses worldwide. We remove complexity so clients can transact globally with confidence. Our tailored, secure, and efficient solutions span FX and international payments, multi‑currency accounts, and integrations that make global operations effortless.
With six offices, five regulatory licences, and an 83% CAGR over the past three years, we’re scaling fast and earning industry recognition along the way – including CNBC UK’s Top Fintech Companies for 2025, Wealth & Finance FinTech Awards 2025, and the Business Growth Award from Business Awards UK. Behind it all is a team of ambitious VFXers who think like founders, never stop learning, and go the extra mile to help our clients succeed.
VFX has built a market‑leading Payments and Alternative Banking offering, and as client demand continues to scale, we’re hiring an ambitious Commercial Manager to support the next phase of our growth.
This is the first dedicated sales hire within the Global Payments & Alternative Banking team, giving you a genuine seat at the table as we scale. You’ll focus on opening doors, qualifying opportunities, and building early‑stage pipeline, working closely with the Managing Director – Global Payments & Alternative Banking. Alongside owning prospecting, discovery, and qualification activity, you’ll receive hands‑on support across proposals, pricing, and deal progression.
The role is intentionally flexible and highly visible. As we refine our go‑to‑market strategy, target sectors and client profiles will evolve, and you’ll play an active role in shaping where we focus. Beyond building pipeline, you’ll help influence how our proposition is positioned, contribute directly to defining our long‑term ideal client profile, and support decisions on how we take the offering to market.
This opportunity is well suited to someone who thrives in a high‑growth environment, enjoys building from the ground up, and wants to make a tangible impact. As the function scales, there is clear scope for the role to develop with increased ownership, responsibility, and progression, working closely with senior leadership to help steer the next phase of VFX’s growth.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned, in line with the scope of the position, as reasonably required to support business and operational priorities.
We offer more than just perks—we offer ownership.
At VFX, the biggest benefit is the opportunity to act like an owner. Through our Profit Share Scheme (PSP) and Company Share Option Plan (CSOP), every team member has a chance to own a stake in the business and share in the profits.
To show you what that looks like, in 2024, PSP participants received over $1,000,000 USD. From those distributions, more than 80% of eligible VFXers chose to become shareholders—a powerful reflection of the belief and commitment that drives VFX forward.
If you care about building something meaningful, take pride in your work, and are motivated by impact—you’ll thrive here.
If you are successful, you will be contacted for an initial call with our People Ops team followed by a 1st stage Teams interview with the hiring manager, and ending with an in‑person final stage interview at our London office. Please note, there will be a short task to complete during the final stage interview.
