Job description

Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with an engineering business with over 40 years’ experience across civil nuclear, defence and nuclear consultancy work to recruit a Commercial Manager for its Chorley site.

The Commercial Manager comes with a salary between £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience, and a car allowance along with other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will:

• Provide commercial support to the business, with a focus on Civil Nuclear.
• Ensure resource is in place to deliver commercial support to Civil Nuclear and all resources are effectively deployed.
• Attend, and lead progress/delivery meetings with key stakeholders
• Review and negotiate NEC and other contract agreements, including teaming agreements.
• Support in the review and signing of upstream contracts. Ensure tender and Contract reviews have been completed.
• Support with subcontract strategy & liaise with Project Buyers / procurement Team as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A relevant university degree or a professional accreditation from a relevant body.

Personal skills

The Commercial Manager role would suit someone who has:

• NEC Certified Practitioner with minimum 3 years’ experience
• Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information
• Worked within commercial / contract roles minimum experience 10 years.
• Familiar with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract writing.
