Overview

Bennett and Game are proud to be working with a leading scaffolding contractor delivering safe, reliable, and innovative access solutions across some of the UK's most complex and high-profile projects. Operating in construction, infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, they support main contractors and asset owners in building, maintaining, and enhancing critical facilities.

Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial and contractual performance of scaffolding projects. Working closely with directors, project managers, and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably, to programme, and in compliance with industry standards. This is a key leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, negotiation expertise, and sector knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial function, including contracts, tenders, and cost control
  • Manage pricing, quotations, and bid submissions for scaffolding works
  • Negotiate and administer client contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial obligations
  • Oversee project budgets, cash flow, and financial performance
  • Identify risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Provide accurate commercial reports and forecasts to senior management
  • Contribute to the development of business processes, policies, and long-term strategy
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in construction (scaffolding experience desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, pricing, and financial management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Smart Scaffolder experience beneficial
  • Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field (preferred but not essential)
