Overview

Commercial Gas Engineer (Catering) – Edinburgh. Salary: £42,000.

Responsibilities / What you’ll work on

Mainly contract caterers, Schools, Hospitals, Stadiums, FM companies, Banks, Hotels, MOD sites. All Engineers will require an enhanced DBS clearance.

What’s involved

• 40 hours per week, 08:30 – 17:00 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Flexibility and overtime required.
• Travel time: door to door.
• Standby: varies by region (usually 1 in 5 to 1 in 15). Standby pay: £175. Runs Monday to Sunday.
• Overtime: X1.5 after 40 hours; Saturday X1.5; Sunday & Bank Holidays X2. Bank Holidays will have a day in lieu.
• Annual leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays.
• Van usage: Yes, private use available if opted in; private mileage around 12p per mile depending on Gov guidance.
• Area coverage: depends on region. Generally postcode-oriented within 1.5 hours of home; business needs may require longer travel time.
