Responsibilities
- You will lead, motivate and inspire a team of Relationship Managers and Commercial Analysts who will report to you.
- You will lead by example and develop the team to ensure high performance, professional growth and alignment with team values and goals.
- You will manage the workflow and performance of the team, ensuring timely compliance of all credit and operational risk tasks.
- You will manage an active portfolio of Real Estate customers and growing the bank with the acquisition of new customers.
- You will deliver on lending and other objectives, responding to internal risk challenges, external market challenges, and regulatory requirements.
- You will develop and maintain active and influential relationships with key market professionals and players.
- You will be Metro Bank's external face to the large Commercial Real Estate market (customers & professionals), building our brand reputation in this key market place.
- You will manage all aspects of Risk, including Credit, Operational and Regulatory.
- You will manage, influence and build an internal network across Metro Bank to ensure a One Team approach for customers and colleagues.
- You will liaise with other internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies and reporting set and managed within appetites.
- You will support career development of colleagues and be a role model for colleagues such as Commercial Banking Directors and Commercial Banking Managers who may be looking to progress into your role in the future.

What you will need
- Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
- You will have experience structuring and delivering commercial property lending deals across asset classes such as residential investment (BTL & HMOs portfolios), commercial property (including offices, retail, industrial, leisure, PBSA etc), and mixed-use portfolios (residential & commercial use).
- You will have experience of regularly delivering transaction sizes more than £10m+
- You will have a track record of relationship management skills and specialist sector knowledge within commercial/corporate Real Estate Finance environments.
- You will have in depth knowledge of commercial banking, property investment and development lending with general wider commercial banking and product knowledge.
- You will be experienced in credit writing, financial analysis and report writing for customers with complex needs
- You will have specific Corporate and Commercial experience within Real Estate Finance
- You will be able to apply a pragmatic approach to managing multiple responsibilities within a rapidly changing environment.
- You will have the ability to manage a profit and loss and a balance sheet with a complicated and challenging risk environment.
- You will have direct involvement with developing relationships both internally and externally at senior/executive level
- You will have the ability to represent your team and/or the Bank on various Committees, Forums and other formal groups of people.
