Commercial Assistant – Heavy Civil

Salary: Up To £33K + Pkg
Location: London
Region: London

We are currently seeking a Commercial Assistant to work for a main Civil Contractor who works across the UK, specializing in a variety of civil/infrastructure engineering sectors with a primary focus on build-based projects. The role will be based in East London, with the candidate expected to travel intermittently to various project sites when required.

The Commercial Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Preparing client quotations and maintaining quotation registers
  • Maintaining and updating commercial records as directed
  • Identifying any unnecessary costs and inefficient activities
  • Assisting in the timely preparation of valuations, submissions of invoices, and receipt of payment
  • Assisting in the prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims, and disputes
  • Making the best use of knowledge management information systems
  • Ordering and maintaining consumable stock levels
  • Processing holiday, expenses, and overtime claims as required
  • Reviewing reports and chasing outstanding jobs as required
  • Collating engineers' reports and timesheets to assist service delivery

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in document control and filing systems
  • Excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and PDF Adobe
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • High-quality secretarial skills and the ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
  • Typing ratio must have a minimum of 40 wpm
