Role overview

Here at Hastings, the Car New business team are responsible for acquiring approximately 1m new car Customers for Hastings each year. We are looking for a talented analyst to work as an integral part of this team and support the growth of the business.

This is a key role within the Car New Business team, performing analyses in support of key commercial initiatives. You will bring together data from disparate sources, join and analyse it to generate insight.

Job details

  • You will utilise the data, proactively identifying opportunities within the data, propose new initiatives, and work cross-functionally to see them through to successful delivery.
  • This will lead onto an element of collaborative analysis - you will be responsible for delivering this analysis to support key commercial initiatives and strategic decision-making across our commercial teams.
  • There is also an element of stakeholder communication - you will be presenting analysis confidently to stakeholders using verbal, written, and visual communication methods, including dashboards and presentations.
  • Finally, its important that you undertake performance evaluation, analysing the outcomes of commercial initiatives, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency

Essential skills/experience:

  • We are looking for someone who has prior experience in a Commercial or Data Analyst position. This will be in a highly regulated environment such as insurance or the financial services more generally.
  • As a result, you will have also developed good skills in analytics and problem solving with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • What also goes hand in hand with the analytical skills is a proficiency in data tools such as SQL and visualisation platforms such as Power BI.
  • Of course the technical aspects are important, but we are also looking for a good communicator, with the ability to explain concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will also be able to take a proactive mindset, with a continuous improvement approach.
