Job summary

An arts organization in Scotland is seeking an experienced accompanist and coach to provide accompaniment and coaching for Masters level students, primarily in Brass and Woodwind. This role involves delivering rehearsals, assessments, and various departmental events. Applicants should possess relevant professional experience and excellent communication skills. About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced and established accompanist and coach to provide keyboard accompaniment and coaching of students, up to Masters level, primarily within the Brass & Woodwind departments at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver accompaniment and coaching/rehearsals up to taught Masters level for all programmes within Brass and Woodwind departments as required.
  • Accompany assessments for students with the Brass and Woodwind departments as needed.
  • Cover all wind and brass exams as well as departmental performance classes, masterclasses, concerts, recordings, festivals and open days as required.
  • Work up to 28 hours during term time, with flexibility for up to 35 hours during the three‑week recital period.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognised, established coach who is highly motivated, dynamic and thrives in a demanding, intense yet passionate educational environment.
  • Relevant professional experience in music as a performer and teacher.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Higher Education or conservatoire sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and an interest in the development of young people’s potential, with knowledge and experience of arts education.
Additional Information

Salary: £46.24 per hour (inclusive of annual leave). This role is initially until the end of the academic year 25/26, to be reviewed by both parties with a view to continuing.
