Job summary

A precision engineering company in Welwyn Garden City is seeking an experienced CNC Turner/Setter to work full-time. The ideal candidate will have expertise in setting and operating CNC lathes with Mazak and/or Fanuc controls, and be confident in producing small-to-medium batches to tight tolerances. Qualifications

  • Experienced CNC Turner/Setter from a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to set machines from scratch, change tooling, adjust offsets.
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement tools such as Micrometers and Verniers.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC Lathes with Mazak and/or Fanuc controls.
  • Produce small-to-medium batch work to tight tolerances.
  • Perform first-off checks and ensure quality production.

Package
  • £17.00 - £22.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Back Shift includes an additional 20% shift allowance

Days
  • Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am - 2:00pm
Back Shift
  • Monday - Wednesday: 1:30pm - 12:00am
  • Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:00pm
Requirements
  • Experienced CNC Turner/Setter from a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Skilled setting and operating CNC Lathes with Mazak (Mazatrol) and/or Fanuc controls
  • Ability to set machines from scratch, change tooling, adjust offsets and perform first-off checks
  • Confident producing small-to-medium batch work to tight tolerances
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement tools such as Micrometers, Verniers, Height Gauges
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on producing right-first-time components
