Overview

Futures are working with a manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Leeds who are looking to appoint an accomplished CNC Turner to their expanding team. This business focuses on producing highly accurate components for a range of industries globally.

The successful candidate will be joining a forward-thinking, award-winning manufacturing site, equipped with modern CNC technology and supported by a knowledgeable group of seasoned machinists.

Responsibilities
  • Taking full ownership of programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines running on Fanuc controls
  • Manufacturing precision, small-batch components in line with tight customer tolerances
  • Preparing tooling and fixtures, validating programs, and managing all stages of the machining process
  • Following scheduled operations to ensure production targets are consistently achieved
  • Working in line with strict Health & Safety and Quality standards
  • Using materials and tooling effectively to maintain high levels of productivity
  • Performing thorough in-process checks using standard measuring instruments
  • Delivering completed work to an exceptional, repeatable standard
  • Planning ahead to minimise changeover times and reduce unnecessary downtime
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience programming and modifying CNC turning programs, specifically with Fanuc systems
  • A high level of competence in reading technical drawings and working to fine tolerances
  • Proven capability in setting and operating CNC lathes within a precision machining environment
  • A solid understanding of materials, tooling strategies, and modern machining techniques
  • A track record of producing quality work with minimal rework
