Overview

CNC Turner Setter Operator & CNC Miller Setter Operator - Aerospace

Location: South West UK (On-site)

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 + benefits

I'm currently supporting a leading aerospace precision engineering company who are looking for CNC Setter Operators (both Turning and Milling) to join their growing team. These are full-time, permanent positions offering excellent job security and development opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • For CNC Turning: Set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • For CNC Milling: Set and operate 3/4/5 axis CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls.
  • Produce high-complexity aerospace components to tight tolerances across a variety of materials.
  • Ensure parts meet quality and customer specifications at all times.
  • Work to planned set/run times and support continuous improvement.
  • Use a range of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, plug gauges) to check work.
  • Ensure all route cards, drawings, and materials are followed correctly.
  • Participate in SQDCP and progress meetings, contributing to quality and process improvements.
  • Support delivery schedule adherence, ensuring work is completed on time and in full.
What You'll Need
  • Experience setting and operating CNC machines (Turning with Fanuc / Milling with Heidenhain).
  • Strong background in producing complex precision components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Hands-on inspection skills using micrometers, verniers, and other measuring tools.
  • Good understanding of quality standards within precision/aerospace engineering.
  • Aerospace experience (desirable but not essential).
Hours & Benefits
  • 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 07:30-16:00, Fri 07:30-12:30).
