A healthcare organization in Wales is searching for an experienced pharmacy technician to join their clinical trials pharmacy service. The role involves managing trial pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with legislation, and providing a high-quality service to clinical trial patients. Candidates must hold a pharmacy technician registration and relevant qualifications. The annual salary ranges from £31,516 to £38,364, offering opportunities for professional growth.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic pharmacy technician to work within our regional clinical trials pharmacy service. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the set‑up and management of clinical trial pharmacy services, with a strong understanding of thelegislation and regulatory frameworksgoverning clinical trials. Experience within cancer services would be beneficial given the significant volume and complexity of oncology and haematology clinical trials across the region.
This role requires a motivated individual who can work to assist with the delivery of a service of the highest standards. You will be responsible to support innovation, and ensuring compliance while maintaining a patient‑centred focus.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
1. To contribute to the provision of a dispensing service for clinical trial patients. To apply and ensure the principles of GCP are adhered to in the management of clinical trials maintain records of dispensing including clinical trial material.
2. Under the general direction of the supervising pharmacist to undertake the day to day management of the pharmacy clinical trials service ensuring an efficient and timely service to all users
3. To undertake technical checking of prescriptions as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician and to maintain competences and accreditation in this area.
4. To write pharmacy procedures for the management of Investigational Medicinal Products using source documents such as the protocol and pharmacy manual
5. To work as part of a team and also work independently and using own initiative to deal with problems, enquiries and urgent requests referring to the senior technician or a pharmacist if necessary.
