Clinical Support Worker – Wirral (Inpatient)

Are you a caring and compassionate Support Worker looking for a fresh opportunity? CWP may have the role for you. We have permanent, full‑time and part‑time vacancies for Clinical Support Workers in our Bed‑based adult and older people services at Springview Hospital, Wirral.

The Trust supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate set by the Living Wage Federation and will add a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Main duties of the job

Wards cater for acute admissions, assessment and treatment of dementia care, psychiatric intensive care and rehabilitation inpatient services. You will work on a rotational shift basis, including days and nights.

You will be part of a supportive multi‑disciplinary team and share an ethos of collaborative working with service users, carers and other stakeholders.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Appropriate Mental Health qualification or willingness to complete an apprenticeship suitable for Clinical Support Worker role
  • Will work towards the appropriate Mental Health NVQ level 3 once in post or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate a range of work procedures and practices and exhibit knowledge and skills
  • Completion or commitment to complete the Care Certificate (CWP in‑house 2‑day training within 3 months of start)
  • Qualifications in Health and Social Care or related disciplines
Knowledge and Expertise
  • Understanding of CWP, including mental health services and the Trust’s role in the health economy
  • Knowledge of confidentiality issues in mental health policy and practice interventions
  • Knowledge of CWP observation policy (policy available on CWP website)
  • Understanding of mental health legislation and policies
Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide good quality care while adhering to Trust policies and procedures, and progressing towards Care Certificate
  • Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, wider teams, service users, etc.
  • Supporting others in a care setting, whether professional, lived experience, or voluntary
  • Previous experience working with adults with severe mental health needs
